Rajesh writes that it is a sign of our times that
Avinash Avnish Bajaj has landed in jail on the sale of an obscene video on Bazee (an ebay company). The rot in our country goes deeper. It is a sign of times that we are ruled by criminals, murderers and corrupt leaders. There are no honest leaders anymore in this country and as a consequence the rot has spread to any and everything associated with the govt. including the judiciary and the police.
It is a sign of times that the SC wonders what to do with a criminal MP?
It is a sign of times that an upright officer cannot function and fulfill his obligations and is forced to quit the IPS.
It is a sign of times that the police negotiates an accused’s surrender instead of arresting him.
I can go about quoting instances and hyper-link them….but this will not change anything on the ground. We the people have chosen to give up on our country. We are the ones who allowed this cancerous growth of corruption and criminals in our nation and do nothing apart from whining about it.
It is also a sign of the times that the literate do not go out and vote in this country.
It is also a sign of the times that those who are literate do not spread literacy around.
It is also a sign of the times that those with a voice, chose to remain silent.
It is also a sign of the times that those who can, chose to turn a blind eye.
It is also a sign of the times that we the people chose to bribe our way through everything whether procuring a driving license or a death certificate.
I hold no brief for
Avinash Avnish and if he / his portal have broken any laws, he deserves to go the jail. At the same time I abhor that an external nation choses to interfere in internal matters relating to the laws of the nation. However, given the abysmal state of affairs of our judicial system, which seems to have two laws – one for the politicians and one for the rest of the citizens – I cannot condemn them, they chose to care for their citizens.
We the people are to be blamed squarely for the mess we are in. Unless we take responsibility, unless we change and demand a change, the change will not happen.
