The mirror is getting wiped clean

What magic has
Grace unfolded
that Your Name
is now etched
in  the deep recess
of my heart
Pulsating vibrantly!

Can you hear it?
It calls me even before
I could call It!
Embracing me
in the
resplendent
Light of Love!

A bit by bit,
slowly but surely,
the mirror
is getting
wiped clean;

In the humdrum
of daily affairs
He seems so far away;
Forgotten, neglected,
and hardly remembered;

Daily thoughts, Actions
and Behaviour -
a far cry
from what He wills;
yet,
in that space of
meditation;
I find Him
over and over again;
day after day;
waiting
with infinite patience
to embrace me
in that blanket of Grace!

[28th Nov 2017; SKY/Meditation]

It reminded me of two brilliant shloka's from the Gita,
in 13:17 or 18 depending on
which version you are reading.
Shri Krishna says:

"jyotisam api taj jyotis
tamasah param ucyate
jnanam jneyam jnana-gamyam
hrdi sarvasya visthitam"

He is the source of light in all luminous objects.
He is beyond the darkness of matter and is unmanifested.
He is knowledge, He is the object of knowledge,
and He is the goal of knowledge.
He is situated in everyone's heart

And in 18:61 He says:

"isvarah sarva-bhutanam
hrd-dese 'rjuna tisthati…"

The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart!

A deep dive

A deep dive

A resplendent light
lights up the heart;
and a gush of energy
ignites, pours and
drenches me in a
wave of happiness!

Moments before
a thousand thoughts;
unceasing;
like the
waves in the ocean
were lashing the mind;
creating varied
hues of emotions;

Staying on the surface
getting swept in these
waves is pain;
below the surface
beyond the reach of the waves
is resplendent calm and
pure bliss; sweet as honey!
Waiting to be tasted by
all who choose to dive in!

#Sadhana/Meditation- 14th Nov 2017

That fragrance of sweet devotion!

Something rubbed off
and I carried it with
Me!

Intangible,
yet oh so
palpable!

Countless hours,
days and weeks
or was it an eternity?
waiting:
– for a glimpse;
– to bask in that radiant presence;
– to soak in that light, love, and laughter!
– to dissolve in pure devotion!

It took nary a moment
for the mind to dissolve
and the heart to get satiated!

Yet, I know that this
will be short lived!
That ache of longing
waits around the corner
to rob me yet again!

Tonight, though
I care not!
for I know
that I won’t get
a wink of sleep;
as that presence
shimmers and lingers
bathing me in its
fragrance!

Oh! can you smell it?
That fragrance of sweet devotion!

The Encounter On The Road

In the madness of
peak hour,
bumper-to-bumper
traffic;
horns blaring,
all on a edge;
trying to squeeze
their vehicles into
non-existent space;
in a rush to reach
their destination!

I had an encounter!
Caught in an unexpected space,
eyes on the road,
mind somewhere else
music in the background;
The grey monsoon clouds
threatening to rain;
the gentle swaying of the trees
in that sweet monsoon breeze!

All these
faded into oblivion
as Wisdom dawned!

I strained to hear
what It had to say;
but, I caught not a word!

Yet, in that short,
muted exchange
It left me with a
still heart and a
peace inexplicable!

It comes when It wants to
and I mostly have
a fleeting encounter;
Like a stolen kiss,
it leaves me wanting more of It!

Happiness is.

This comes a day late.

Guruji tweeted “What does Happiness mean to you? #WorldHappinessDay”; rather than replying in 140 characters, I thought, let me pen down a poem. It is also the #WorldPoetryDay today

Dear Gurudev, I found
Happiness when

– I did my
first Art of Living course
and experienced the beautiful
and sublime Sudarshan Kriya

– I found health
when I so needed it;
through the practices of
Kriya and Meditation;

– I am immersed in Satsangs;
the joy, beauty, and grace
that flows…how
does one describe it?

– I become an instrument
in spreading peace and knowledge;
so very grateful for it;

– I got an opportunity to
contribute a bit towards the society;

– I discovered the deep joy
that Meditation has to offer

– I attended the joyful festivals at Ashram;

– in the mystical Monday morning Rudra Puja’s

– in the deep silence in those
advanced meditation programs
so satiating, yet the longing for more;

– I had the rare opportunity to travel with you

– I was beyond happiness when we
were fortunate to host you at our home!
That was seismic 10 on a Happiness Scale!!
and I could go on and on!

Yet, beyond events,
Happiness right now is
the recognition that –
despite the ups and downs in life;
despite the stumbles on the path;
despite everything else –
I belong to you!

That recognition
and remembrance
is Happiness for me
and that is enough!

The Universe within!

In the deep stillness
where the mind stands still,
the breath ceases to flow,
in that vacuum of nothingness
I get a feeble glimpse
of that vast Cosmos;

A moment, I am part of it;
Another, it is part of mine;
Still. Unmoving. Quiet.
Yet, A buzzing field of action!
